Hip Hop, R&B, and Reggae solo artists and groups have the chance to compete for a 2009 Southern Entertainment Awards Performance Showcase spot (valued at $1500). There is NO FEE to enter the competition.

Who will be Selected to Perform:

Artists must RSVP for an opportunity to perform and compete for a 2009 SEA Performance spot. An RSVP does NOT guarantee a performance spot. 10 Artists will be selected to perform based on their song selection and overall talent (as portrayed in their song submissions). 5 Performance spots will be reserved for HomeBase Urban Network artist members and affiliates. Selected Performers will be notified via email on or before Monday, Jan 19, 2009.

Check-in:

Upon entering the event, registered music artists should check-in at the front table to sign up for their performance time. Check-in is 7P-9P and performances are from 9P-10:30P.

What To Bring:

- 5-min show CD (entire performance CANNOT exceed 5 min)

How Winner Will Be Decided:

Winner will be determined by Audience Vote and Panel Vote. Artists are highly encouraged to bring Friends, Family, and FANS so they can come vote for you!!!

Power Player judges will critique each performance
based on the following criteria:

- Originality
- Creativity
- Stage Presence
- Overall Talent
- Marketability

Grand Prize (valued at over $3000):

1 Grand Prize winner will TAKE ALL and receive:

- A 5-min Southern Entertainment Awards showcase spot on Fri Mar 20, 2009 in Tunica, MS at the Gold Strike Casino Resort & Hotel (Representing HomeBase Promotions)

- Live performance during official Power Players Present VIP After Party

- Free Studio time

- A future interview on "R.E.P. My Block" segment of UP CLOSE & PERSONAL radio show on 2009 SEA nominated Internet Radio Station, SA Urban.
